El Portillo Malbec

So this is my all time favorite! The first time I had this was at Fogo de Chao. It was absolutely amazing. Not only for something to have by itself, but also with dinner and dessert. As a matter in fact, I remember having turtle cheesecake for dessert.
It was absolutely amazing, even remembering that meal almost 10 years later.
El Portillo is from the Bodegas Salentein in Argentina. The line of El Portillo is considered their entry level tier but it drinks amazingly well even today's vintage.
The wine is priced nicely under $9 a bottle.

Back in stock

Just came back in......know y'all been looking for Bliss and now we got it back in...

Von Stasser Diamond Mountain District

I can't not post about this. What a wonderfully big, in your face cab. And an intriguing fact on this wine is that they use a glass cork to minimize spoilage. Very innovative in not only ensuring a great bottle every time you open it but the juice inside guarantees to deliver as well.
Priced at just under $50, it is a steal!

My recommendations

Afternoon Bloggers! So after presenting what I have been doing to my supervisor, I have been given the ok to tell y'all where to find these suggestions specifically.

I work for the Spec's family, specifically at the League City location on I-45 and FM 518, next to the Kroger.

I have been working on ways for y'all to identify my recommendations and I have come up with the little grape cluster that you see. So if you happen to come in the store and see this little tag on the shelf, you can rest assured that whatever it is tagged on, it comes highly suggested.

I would also like to hear from each and every one of you, my readers and neighbors, please feel free to leave comments on here or email me.

Until my next post, remember what makes a wine spectacular is the story that accompanies it.

Ch de Lancyre

Syrah, Grenache, Carignon blends together in this wine bringing wonderful ripe red fruit with slight pepper. This wonderfully easy to drink wine is one if those diamonds in the rough. Not many know it, therefore its price is well under what it should be.

Brutocao Wines

Evening bloggers! I was debating on what to post and I thought I would follow up on my post from early today on Brutocao Chardonnay.

This is the newest addition to the portfolio that I work with and I am really excited about its addition. Not only did the chard come in but the cabernet sauvignon and the pinot noir arrived as well. Both of the reds hit the shelves at just under $20 but the chardonnay came in around $15. It has been a few years since wines have come in that I have seen that I am anxious for everyone to get a hold of.

If any of ya'll remember the Block 713 Cabernet, Abbeyville or Bernardus chard, or even Jackson Smith pinots then you might share my excitement about these.

I would definitely recommend you find these and give them a try! These wines will be a testament to my favorite saying "A good bottle of wine always comes in pairs because the first one doesn't last long enough."

Brutocao Chardonnay

Finally! I have found a worthy replacement for Abbeyville. Looking for something besides La Crema? Look no further!
I am so excited!
Retails under $15.00, a must try!

Ca'Momi Chardonnay

In my work today, I remember my post on Ca'Momi merlot and stating that the line was a goto for me. Well here is the chardonnay. To me this is the chardonnay of chardonnays in the under $15 category.
Talking about the balance of tropical fruit, vanilla, oak, and creaminess! I recommend this to those of you who are K.J. fans or La Crema fans.

Everyday Wine

Ok, so here is my first pick for trying to find an everyday wine. Sugar Plum Cabernet is a rich, fruit forward style that is very easy to drink. This wine retails under $8. If you are new to red wine or trying to find a versatile cab for everyday enjoyment. I recommend this one!

Looking for the right wine

Afternoon bloggers! As I am getting ready for work, I decided to post a little more on looking for the right bottle. I have a philosophy when it comes to shopping for the right bottle during the week. I look for something that runs about $10 to $15 a bottle when shopping for a "house wine". By that I mean something that I'd like to enjoy any given day of the week. It is something that won't break the bank but yet still is enjoyable. I also look for the "diamond in the rough" wines as well. By that I mean not your main stream wines, such as Kendall Jackson, La Crema, and so forth. Even though these companies make decent wines, they have a tendency to be over priced because of the marketing that is involved in making them household names.

Being that it is Tuesday, this is an idea that is great to start off the week with. I will be looking for a wine this afternoon at work to share my thoughts on when I get home tonight. So until then, remember a good bottle always comes in pairs, the first one never last long enough!

Dalliance

During the hustle and bustle of this last season, I came across a little gem that I want to share with ya'll. It is Dalliance from Lake County in Healdsburg, CA. It came to my attention because of the amount of people that were asking about red blends. Especially Zinfandel based blends. What caught my eye about this one is that has six different grapes in the blend. Zin, Syrah, Tempranillo, Barbera, Cabernet and Grenache. It is just unique enough that I really hadn't seen this before.

The characteristics are absolutely amazing! Amazing blackberry fruit is accompanied by nice vanilla oak in smell while ripe cherry, cinnamon spice and oak play in the mouth.

Sneaking in under $14 here in town makes a wonderful everyday style wine.

Pair this one off with a nice steak dinner or kick back after work with a glass to relax.

Ca'Momi Merlot

So I have been debating what my first post would be about after the holidays and I decided to do a quick bit on this merlot.
The Ca'Momi line has proven to be a go to staple and for the right reason too.
This merlot is every bit as delicious as affordable too. With the right combination of plum and cherry fruits plus nice hints of eucalyptus and flint rounding out this silky merlot. Just over $12 a bottle, it makes a great wine to enjoy any day of the week.
