Thanksgiving is right around the corner

Where has this year gone? It seems that it goes by quicker and quicker with every year that goes by. It seems that it was just the other week when the last holiday season was upon us. Well, I have been thinking about what I was going to do with the 2013 holiday season upon us.

Being that we are starting off the season with Thanksgiving, I want to give thanks for each and every one of ya'll that have made this blog experiment a budding success! I would not have imagined that I would see over 1500 hits on here in just under a year that I have been doing this!

Now on to business, what are we going to be pairing with our Thanksgiving dinner? Well, are you looking to pair the wine with dinner or are you wanting to experiment and work dinner around the wines? I can assure you that I can accommodate either direction that you want to go.

If you are looking to pair the wine with dinner and come in to see me, then I will give you a jump on what questions that I'll ask. First, is your dinner going to be traditional (oven roasted turkey, bread stuffing, mashed potatoes with giblet gravy, cranberry sauce, candied yams), semi-traditional (fowl of sorts, more rustic style vegetables), or is it going to be non-traditional (cut of red meat, vegetables, etc). Depending on the style of dinner, I might ask what herbs and spices are being used not only on the meat but also with what vegetables as well. Once I have that information, I will definitely ask what your wine preference is (red or white, sweet or dry).

Once I have this, I then can help you find the best match for your meal.

If you're looking to pair your dinner with your wine, all I will need to know is what your wine preference is. I then can help you determine which flavors will compliment your wine. If you are looking to be experimental this holiday season, this is the best approach to use.

Again, thanks to each and every one of you guys out there! I appreciate ya'll allowing me to help enhance your meals and help plan out your party events!

I look forward to seeing ya'll in the store this season!
